– Clinilabs, an early-phase and specialty contract research organization (CRO), has expanded its Phase I Clinical Research Unit (CRU). This expansion adds 2303 squared feet of acute care space that includes a custom-built 8-bed ward. These new facilities complement the CRU’s existing 40 semi-private rooms, raising total bed capacity to 48. Beds throughout the CRU are equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation, including the Mortara Surveyor system, which enables continuous telemetric ECG monitoring for cardiac intensive and cardiac safety studies.
Clinilabs’ new facility enhances the CRU’s ability to run Phase I trials, including FIM, SAD, MAD, DDI, food effect, and PD studies with biologics and small molecules. The facility houses a new pharmacy with vented hood for investigational product preparation, a clinical laboratory for sample collection and processing, high-capacity ultra-low freezers, back-up power for critical systems, and a comfortable recreation area for subjects that provides wireless internet access and a 50” flat panel monitor for viewing television and movies.
