AASM CHOOSES CLINILABS’ SLEEP DISORDERS INSTITUTE AS HOST SITE FOR FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
– Clinilabs’ Sleep Disorders Institute has been chosen by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) as one of the host sites for its 7th Annual International Mini-Fellowship Program.
This fellowship is designed to provide international physicians from underdeveloped countries with the opportunity to attain practical training in sleep medicine. For three weeks this May, the Sleep Disorders Institute and its staff will contribute to the training of a physician who will join the next generation of sleep specialists.
Dr. Gary Zammit, President & CEO of Clinilabs and Director of the Sleep Disorders Institute, is enthusiastic about hosting an international fellow. “It is a privilege to participate in the Academy’s fellowship program. It allows us to expand the scope of our educational mission to make a greater contribution to the field. Through our interaction with the Academy and its international fellows, we also gain a deeper understanding of sleep-related healthcare issues in other parts of the world.”
The Sleep Disorders Institute is an accredited diagnostic and treatment center that is dedicated to the care of adults and children with disorders of sleep and wakefulness. The Institute provides evaluation and treatment services for people with sleep disorders, including sleep apnea, snoring, insomnia, restless legs syndrome, narcolepsy, and other conditions. The Institute is staffed by board-certified specialists with primary specialties in neurology, psychiatry, pulmonary and critical care medicine, and cardiology. The Institute is a regional Center of Excellence that is affiliated with New York’s finest hospitals. It is dedicated to serving patients who suffer from all forms of sleep disorders, offering the highest quality of care available today.
