MAYOR BLOOMBERG SPEAKS AT RIBBON-CUTTING CEREMONY TO HONOR

CLINILABS, INC. NEW STATE-OF-THE-ART CLINICAL TRIALS FACILITY IN MANHATTAN

New Facility Will Expand Global Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Capabilities At New York’s Leading Drug Development Services Company

NEW YORK , May 30, 2006 – In a speech today to celebrate the opening of New York City’s largest clinical trials facility, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg formally recognized the contribution of Clinilabs, Inc., a privately-held life sciences company that specializes in providing drug development services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, in helping make New York a leader in the biotechnology industry.

The Mayor addressed the crowd at a ribbon-cutting ceremony held at Clinilabs’ new state-of-the-art, 24,400 square-foot clinical trial facility in the borough of Manhattan . The new facility will feature 100+ staff including clinical researchers experienced in all phases of human clinical trials, nursing and technology staff, as well as increased offerings including the ability to conduct FDA-required central nervous system ( CNS ), cardiac safety, and Japanese bridging studies.

Mayor Bloomberg praised Clinilabs’ dedication to exceptional service and high-quality clinical care as well as the company’s successful business strategy, highlighting Clinilabs’ role in cultivating the biotechnology industry within New York City – one of the Mayor’s top economic priorities. He lauded Clinilabs’ innovative implementation of technology and training that has placed the company at the leading edge of drug development.

“The remarkable growth of Clinilabs is testimony to the potential for expansion of the life sciences industry in New York City ,” said Mayor Bloomberg. “From eight employees only five years ago, the company currently employs more than 100. During my Administration, we have been actively engaged in creating the environment to foster growth in the bioscience industry. The fact that we are here today is a good indication that those efforts are paying off. I commend Dr. Gary Zammit and Clinilabs for their dedication to the New York City Bioscience community.”

Other speakers at the event included Andrew M. Alper, President of the New York City Economic Development Corporation and Gary Zammit, Ph.D., President & CEO of Clinilabs, Inc. and Clinical Associate Professor of Psychology (in Psychiatry) at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.“
