Molecular and Clinical Pharmacology

David J. Greenblatt, MD, has held numerous roles at Tufts University School of Medicine and has been a staff member since 1979. Appointments include:

  • Louis Lasagna, MD., Endowed Professorship, Department of Immunology
  • faculty member in the Graduate Program in Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics at the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences
  • Professor of Psychiatry, Medicine, and Anesthesia
  • Previous Chair of the Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics
  • Program Director and Associate Program Director of the Institution’s Clinical/Translational Research Center (formerly the General Clinical Research Center)
  • Chair of the Institutional Review Board

Dr. Greenblatt is the Editor-in-Chief of Clinical Pharmacology in Drug Development, operated by the American College of Clinical Pharmacology as well as the Co-Editor-in-Chief with Dr. Richard I. Shader, of the Journal of Clinical Psychopharmacology.

Native to Newtown, Massachusetts, Dr. Greenblatt is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Amherst College. After college, he attended Harvard Medical School and then trained in internal medicine and clinical pharmacology at Massachusetts General Hospital. Since the late 1960’s he has been an active investigator in the area of molecular and clinical pharmacology. Dr. Greenblatt’s PubMed’s listing includes more than 1,000 publications which include 780 original research reports and has received the support of the National Institutes of Health for more than 35 years.
